SAHIFAYDA EDITORIAL GUIDE
Make an approximate monthly budget without tracking every purchase
You can start understanding a month with approximate category totals. An incomplete but honest first estimate is useful if you know what it leaves out. Daily expense logging is optional; it is not required to use the monthly review.
Start with income you can reasonably rely on
Use take-home income rather than a headline salary. If income varies, try a cautious month and a typical month as separate scenarios. A single number cannot guarantee what will arrive next month.
List commitments once
Group home costs, groceries, necessary travel, bills, existing debt payments and other spending. Count a purchase once: if the purchase is already in groceries, counting the complete card bill again can double-count it. Keep repayment of older debt separate from new purchases when making your estimate.
Worked example: ₹12,000 left is not automatically spare money
With ₹50,000 in entered income and ₹38,000 in entered spending, the difference is ₹12,000. This is arithmetic, not a personalised savings recommendation. Annual insurance, repairs, medical needs, school costs or other missing items may still need a provision.
Use the result as a starting point
If the result is positive, decide what must cover irregular bills, a reserve and your own goals before treating it as available for a new commitment. If it is negative, review essential and flexible costs and speak to the lender through official channels if existing payments are becoming difficult. A new reward offer does not remove a budget shortfall.
Check privacy and revisit the estimate
Calculator inputs stay in the current browser tab. They are not submitted to SIA or saved as financial records. Refreshing clears the numbers. Revisit categories when circumstances change; do not treat an old estimate as a permanent spending limit.
Common questions
Do I need to record every daily expense?
No. This tool starts with approximate monthly category totals.
Is the balance an amount I should invest or use for prepayment?
No. The result does not assess omitted needs, risk, suitability or lender conditions.
